Morgan Stanley published a report on April 28, 2026, reviewing Applied Intuition's progress in enabling industrial autonomy. The Silicon Valley startup provides simulation, verification, and development infrastructure across automotive, defense, mining, agriculture, and trucking end markets. Management emphasized that its unique value lies in collaborating closely with industrial partners to co-develop and deploy AI products using a capital-light approach.
Physical AI represents the next frontier. Applied Intuition combines real-world industrial data with closed-loop reinforcement learning to handle edge cases, bridging the gap left by large lab world models. The company claims a $2 billion remaining transaction value and completed a $600 million Series F round in 2025 at a $15 billion valuation.
The firm forecasts the global ADAS/AD market will reach $200 billion by 2030, comprising $150 billion in hardware and $400–500 billion in software. Industrial autonomy is accelerating across sectors: Lockheed Martin develops autonomous defense systems, Aurora surpassed 250,000 autonomous trucking miles without incident, and Caterpillar operated 690 autonomous mining trucks by end-2024 with a target to triple by 2030. Deere's See & Spray system expanded from hundreds of North American units in 2024 to over 1,000 new orders in 2025. Freeport-McMoRan and Teck Resources are also deploying fully autonomous haul trucks.
