Following the 2026 AI Strategy Conference, UBS reiterated a Buy rating on Tencent Holdings (0700.HK) with a target price of HKD 570. The investment thesis is anchored by the resilience of Tencent's core businesses—gaming, advertising, and fintech—which provide a solid financial foundation for its ongoing artificial intelligence transition.

Tencent's strategic AI investments will focus on three primary areas: content generation, advertising efficiency, and cloud services. During the conference period, gaming revenue grew 8% year-over-year, advertising revenue increased 12%, and fintech revenue rose 6%. UBS projects that AI-related activities will contribute approximately 5% of total revenue in 2026, equating to about RMB 15 billion. AI initiatives are expected to improve ad click-through rates by 15% and double AI cloud revenue.

The firm also highlighted an increasingly stable regulatory environment, characterized by normalized game license approvals and a clear fintech regulatory framework. Valuation remains attractive, with the stock trading at 18 times the 2026 estimated earnings, below its historical average of 22 times. A planned HKD 100 billion share buyback for 2026 provides further support. Gross margin is projected to expand to 48%, aided by a favorable mix toward high-margin businesses. Capital expenditure is guided at RMB 40 billion, primarily directed toward AI infrastructure build-outs.
