Following a management discussion at the Asia Communacopia and Technology Conference, Goldman Sachs reiterated its constructive view on BYD Co. (002594.SZ / 1211.HK), highlighting the automaker's improving overseas premium mix and robust technological moat in flash charging capabilities. The investment bank noted that BYD is successfully increasing the proportion of high-end models in its export portfolio, driving an overseas average selling price (ASP) that exceeds domestic levels and structurally improves overall profitability.

BYD's competitive advantage is further reinforced by its proprietary flash charging technology, notably the e-Platform 3.0 Evo. This architecture supports ultra-fast charging capabilities, enabling roughly 400 kilometers of driving range in just 15 minutes, while maintaining full compatibility with existing charging infrastructure. This creates a formidable barrier to entry and strengthens the brand's technological appeal.

To mitigate tariff risks and reduce logistics costs, the company is actively advancing localized production facilities in key regions such as Southeast Asia and Europe. BYD also continues to dominate the highly competitive domestic new energy vehicle market, leveraging its broad product lineup and stringent cost controls. While management indicated that the blade battery and flash charging technologies could eventually be supplied to other automakers, Goldman Sachs did not provide a specific rating or target price. Key risks include geopolitical tensions and shifting international tariff regimes.
