JPMorgan held a group meeting with Mr. Fujita, Senior General Manager of Mitsubishi Electric's Digital Energy Center of Excellence, focusing on the strategic rationale for the PCI Energy Solutions acquisition, the evolution of US power trading markets, and the energy solutions business's long-term growth potential.

Management targets lifting energy solutions revenue from ¥100bn in FY2026 (16% operating margin) to ¥200bn in FY2030 (28% operating margin), leveraging DC800V solutions and cross-segment collaborative selling, with demand-side services such as data centers a key focus. PCI's software uses AI to sharpen forecasts of power demand, generation volumes and market prices, optimizing procurement, generation and storage as participation on both sides of the US power market grows. Mitsubishi Electric pairs the platform with its own hardware (DC800V, air conditioning and cooling systems) to meet data-center customers' cost, efficiency and decarbonization needs. PCI is expected to contribute ¥25bn of the FY2030 revenue target, with synergies adding ¥55bn, and a power-supply reference design compatible with Nvidia GPUs has been released. JPMorgan rates Mitsubishi Electric (6503) Overweight with a ¥7,100 target price.
