Goldman Sachs reports that corporate AI adoption increased to 20.6% as of June 2026, up from 18.2% in the prior period. This latest AI Adoption Tracker, based on a global enterprise survey spanning multiple industries and regions, highlights the accelerating integration of artificial intelligence, primarily driven by the proliferation of generative AI tools, which accounted for over 60% of the adoption growth.

Adoption rates vary significantly across sectors. The technology industry leads at 45.3%, while healthcare lags considerably at just 8.7%. Geographically, North America maintains the highest adoption rate at 28.4%, outpacing Europe at 15.2% and the Asia-Pacific region at 12.8%. Company size also dictates integration speed; large enterprises with over 1,000 employees report a 32.1% adoption rate, compared to just 14.5% among small and medium-sized businesses.

Supporting this upward trajectory, corporate AI budgets have surged 35% year-over-year. The broader macroeconomic impact remains visible, with AI-related hardware investment in the United States expanding significantly. Semiconductor company revenues are projected to reach an annualized $826 billion by year-end. While adoption is expected to continue climbing, the pace of growth may moderate going forward. Key risks to this outlook include potential regulatory changes and unforeseen technological bottlenecks that could impact enterprise deployment.
