JPMorgan has initiated coverage of SpaceX with an Overweight rating and a December 2027 target price of $225. The firm highlights SpaceX's leadership across launch services, satellite connectivity, and AI infrastructure, noting the company can address a total addressable market exceeding $28 trillion. JPMorgan projects revenue will surge from $19 billion in 2025 to $470 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of 91%, while GAAP operating margins are expected to expand from negative 14% to approximately 50%.

The $225 valuation is based on roughly 41x projected 2028 GAAP EPS of $5.50, further supported by 44x 2028 EBIT and a sum-of-the-parts analysis. Launch capability remains the critical enabler; SpaceX has completed approximately 670 orbital launches with a success rate above 99% and has carried over 80% of global upmass since 2023. The upcoming Starship V3 is expected to substantially improve unit economics and throughput.

Starlink currently dominates the satellite value chain, operating over 9,600 broadband and mobile satellites serving more than 12 million active customers across 164 countries. Looking forward, AI infrastructure is positioned as the primary growth engine. SpaceX is advancing both terrestrial and orbital AI computing capabilities, with terrestrial capacity projected to reach 8.9 gigawatts by 2028 and the first operational AI satellites anticipated later that year. However, significant risks remain, including Starship development timelines, supply chain bottlenecks, capital intensity, and regulatory hurdles. The firm expects negative free cash flow through 2031, necessitating substantial debt financing of roughly $375 billion between 2026 and 2030 to support the AI infrastructure build-out.
