JPMorgan maintains an Overweight rating on Huaming Equipment (002270.SZ) and raises its December 2026 target price from RMB 33 to RMB 38, based on a target P/E of 32x. Following the FY25 earnings call, several strategic insights emerged. Europe contributed over 50% of overseas revenue, while management expressed increased optimism regarding the US market, where indirect exports currently dominate. Operations and maintenance services revenue surged 25-30% year-over-year with gross margins exceeding 60%.

Conversely, domestic tap changer growth was constrained by weak industrial momentum, with overall single-digit growth expected for FY26E. However, both direct and indirect export growth should remain robust, driven by limited capacity expansion among overseas transformer manufacturers. Notably, overseas tap changer gross margins are 5-10 percentage points higher than domestic ones. As tap changers represent only a small fraction of total transformer costs, customers exhibit low price sensitivity, supporting gradual overall margin improvement despite metal price volatility.

JPMorgan adjusted its earnings estimates slightly, lowering FY26E net profit by 2% to RMB 823 million and raising FY27E by 0.8% to RMB 1.06 billion. Key downside risks include slower-than-expected domestic revenue growth, unexpected market share stagnation, and foreign exchange or freight volatility.
