CICC argues that destructive competition in robot vacuums is nearing an end: domestic share is concentrating in the top two brands, and overseas competition should improve as Dreame adjusts strategy. AVC data show 1H26 all-channel retail value and volume down 1% and 3% year over year, broadly stable against a high base as government subsidies phased out. Online, Roborock and Ecovacs each gained 5 percentage points to 33% and 31%, while Narwal and Dreame fell 7 and 2 points to 9% and 13%. Dreame has narrowed its business to four segments—smart cleaning, whole-home intelligence, smart mobility and embodied AI—with cleaning now emphasizing profitability; its expansion, marketing and R&D may all slow, improving industry dynamics. Overseas demand remains buoyant: IDC shows 1Q26 shipments up 37% year over year, and CICC expects momentum to persist in 2Q26, with Roborock holding the top share in the US and Germany and Ecovacs gaining in the US. August launches—Roborock G30S Ultra and P30 Pro at RMB5,499 and RMB4,299, Ecovacs T90S Pro at RMB4,299, and Narwal Xiaoyao 003 Ultra at RMB6,199—all add hot-water mopping. CICC favors leaders Roborock and Ecovacs; risks include fiercer competition, trade policy and raw-material costs.
