Biotech: Monthly TTR Script Tracker Shows September Growth
Symphony prescription data for September 2026 show the US TTR (transthyretin amyloidosis) category growing 4% month over month and 18% year over year, reversing a 5% sequential decline in August, with volumes 4% above June levels at the close of Q2 — evidence that demand remains strong.
All three core products grew sequentially in September: Amvuttra rose 3% m/m, Attruby gained 9% m/m, swinging back from a 6% decline in August, and Tafamidis (Vyndamax plus Vyndaqel) added 3% m/m. While second-line demand is slowing, Alnylam management notes that category growth continues to be driven by treatment-naive patients, and the diagnosis rate is still estimated at only around 20%, leaving meaningful headroom for expansion. Morgan Stanley retains an Attractive view of the biotech industry; the report tabulates covered names with ratings and price levels but does not advance a single-stock buy recommendation.
