UBS has upgraded its 2026 revenue growth forecast for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing to approximately 30% in USD terms, with capital expenditure raised to $52-56 billion, both exceeding market expectations. Management elevated the structural gross margin target from 53%+ to 56%+, driven by sustained improvements in mature N5 and N3 process nodes. The Q1 gross margin guidance reached a record 63-65%, benefiting from cost reductions and high utilization, though partly offset by overseas expansion dilution.

UBS increased its 2026 and 2027 EPS estimates by 17% and 18% respectively, raising the long-term EPS CAGR from 18% to 21%. The target price was consequently raised from NT$1,800 to NT$2,500, based on 21x 2027 PE, while maintaining a Buy rating. UBS expects a full-year 2026 gross margin of 64.0%, though the second half faces pressure from N2 mass production and overseas expansion.

AI accelerator sales are projected to reach the high-teens percentage of revenue by 2025, with the 2024-2029 CAGR upgraded to the mid-to-high 50s. Non-AI demand headwinds, including memory cost inflation in smartphones and PCs, remain manageable due to TSMC's strategic focus on premium products. The current valuation of 14x 2027 PE, significantly lower than the SOX index's 25x, reflects lingering concerns over consumer demand and geopolitical risks.
